Frederick North (Prime Minister) pumps water from King George III into the prostrate form of Britannia. She lies on top of a Red Indian brave, symbolising America. Government ministers look on approvingly. This print is a criticism of the Coercive Acts imposed on America after the rebellion of the Boston Tea Party. The American Revolution broke out in 1775 as a result of oppressive British rule
