Jose Miguel Carrera Verdugo (1785 - 1821)
Chilean general, one of the founders of independent Chile. He was one of the most important leaders during the 1810-1814 period of the Chilean War of Independence. He was ultimately taken prisoner in Mendoza, Argentina, in 1821, put on trial and executed in September that year
