Assiut Barrage on the Nile
Constructing the Assiut of Asyut Barrage on the River Nile in Egypt, about 350 miles downstream of the Aswan Dam. The dam was built in order to divert the waters of the Nile into Egypt's largest irrigation canal, the Ibrahimiya Canal. The photograph shows the foundations of the Ibrahimiya canal head regulator
