The dirndl took to the street in this day frock designed by Dolly Tree for Maureen O?Sullivan in Hold That Kiss (1938). The full gathered blouse was of white silk crepe with small pearl buttons, a note extended in the fastening of the wide stiff black felt belt. The black silk crepe skirt had circular fullness. The costume was completed with a broad brimmed, black straw hat, with grosgrain ribbon tie, black suede gloves and shoes
