Myrna Loy in Prizefighter and the Lady (1933)
Myrna Loy wearing a black taffeta evening gown designed by Dolly Tree in Prizefighter and the Lady (1933). Inspired by the Gibson girl silhouette with an hourglass line and a tiny waist, the flared gown at the base was halterneck with a pleated bottom edge and matching pleated panel from the throat down over the shoulders and around the back. A long line of self-buttons ran up the back of the frock quite in the Naughty Nineties manner. The ensemble was complete with a short fur-edged jacket with big billowing sleeves
