Rosalind Russell and Dolly Tree on the set of Manproof
Dolly Tree with Rosalind Russell on the set of Manproof (1938). Russell was wearing Dolly Tree?s unusual, medieval inspired bridal costume. Made of heavy off-white satin it was moulded to the figure with a slight flare at the hemline and along the train. The sleeves were full at the shoulder and extreme and there was a high, severe neckline. The hat was of the King Arthur period, made of cellophane gauze, giving a transparent silver effect and was very high, with a tight-fitting band encircling the face
