The Air Forces Memorial, or Runnymede Memorial, Surrey
The Air Forces Memorial, or Runnymede Memorial, in Englefield Green, near Egham, Surrey. Memorial dedicated to around 20, 456 members of the air forces of the British Empire who were lost in air and other operations during World War II with no known grave elsewhere in the world. The monument was commissioned by the Commonwealth War Graves and completed in 1953 by the architect Sir Edward Maufe with sculpture by Vernon Hill
