Andrei I Bogolyubsky
Prince Andrei I of Vladimir, known as Andrey Bogolyubsky (c 1111-1174), a prince of Vladimir-Suzdal. He tried to unite Rus lands under his authority. Basing himself in Vladimir, he constructed the Assumption Cathedral and other churches and monasteries. A plot against him resulted in his murder by twenty disgruntled retainers. He was later declared a saint. ~~
