View of the Anichkov Palace, at the intersection of Nevski Prospekt and the Fontanka River, St Petersburg, Russia. The palace takes its name from the nearby Anichkov Bridge. The baroque style building was designed for the Empress Elizabeth of Russia, and completed in 1754. It has also been known as the Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace, the Sergei Palace, and the Dmitry Palace, as a result of changes in ownership and usage.
