View of the Church of the Sign (Znamensky Church) on Znamenskaya Square, later renamed Uprising (Vosstaniya) Square, on Nevski Prospekt, St Petersburg, Russia. The church was built between 1794 and 1804, and demolished in 1940 to make room for a metro station, which eventually opened in 1955
