The Russian Imperial Corps of Pages, St Petersburg, Russia. This was a privileged military school reserved for the sons of noblemen and high-ranking officers, founded in 1802 by Alexander I. Graduates either entered an imperial regiment of their choice, or joined the diplomatic or civil service. The school was disbanded in 1917. The building itself dates from the mid-18th century. It became the headquarters of the Corps of Pages in 1810
