Portrait icon, Prince Mikhail Skopin-Shuisky
Portrait icon depicting Prince Mikhail Vasiliyevich Skopin-Shuisky (1587-1610), a young Russian statesman and military figure during the Time of Troubles. Following his death by poisoning, he was buried in the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, Moscow, and this icon was set above his tomb. It is now on display in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow
