The Three Bogatyrs, or Three Warriors, a painting by Viktor Vasnetsov. They are medieval heroic warriors, similar to the western knight errant. Their names are Alyosha Popovich (known for his intelligence), Dobrynya Nikitich (known for his courage), and Ilya Muromets (known for his physical and spiritual power and integrity, and for his dedication to the protection of his homeland and people). ~~
