View of the Troitsky Bridge, St Petersburg, Russia
A view of the Troitsky (Trinity) Bridge over the River Neva in St Petersburg, connecting the Field of Mars on the left bank of the river to the Petrograd Side next to the Peter and Paul Fortress. The Art Nouveau bridge, designed by Batignolles, opened in 1903 as part of the city's 200th anniversary celebrations. The bridge was named after the Trinity Cathedral, which once stood by the river on the Petrograd Side, but which was demolished soon after the 1917 Revolution
