Feb. 02, 1959 - The Prime Minister lays a wreath on the Statue of Abraham Lincoln in Parliament square: This morning, Mr. Macmillan, the Prime Minister, laid a wreath on the statue of Abraham Lincoln, to mark the 150th anniversary of Lincoln's birth. The bronze statue stands in Parliament Square and is a replica of one in Chicago it was offered to the British nation during the first World War by the British American Peace Centennial Committee and was erected in 1921. Photo shows after laying the wreath on the Lincoln statue in Parliament square this morning. Mr. Macmillan makes a speech.
