Oct. 10, 1951 - Sherlock Holmes On Television.. Rehearsing The Empty House'. With Alan Wheatley as Sherlock Holmes a rehearsal was held of the Conan Doyle play The Empty House - which is to be presented this evening. The story takes place 4 years after Holmes was supposedly killed (in his last book). He came back disguised as an old bookseller to track down his old enemy Colonel Moral'. the story is based around the murder of Ronald Adair in his Park Lane flat.
