1950-1959 Actor - Actress

Oct. 10, 1953 - The girl who was so Lonely: Film producer Alexander Peal slept easier last night, after receiving a letter which said: Pepe is not angry any more, and which came from Mrs. Maria Dominguin. The story behind the letter:- Paal - Eva Bartok's second husband - brought Spanish film star Maria Rosa Salgado from Madrid to teach her English and make her a Hollywood star. English learnt, off she went to Hollywood where she impressed M.G.m. with a film test. Work on your English for six months they said and we'll give you a seven-year contract. she hated Hollywood and was lonely without her bullfighting boy-friend Pepe Dominguin. During the six months Maria Rosa again, upon which she was lonelier still. Pepe, she told Paal, says that if he ever catches up with you he will skin you like a pig'. The second film test was successful, and the 7-year contract was Rosa's for the asking. But by now she was so homesick that Peal, conscience-stricken asked her; What would you do if I freed you from your contract? Said Maria Rosa : Marry Pepe, the man I love'. Though her training had cost him, 000 by this time, Paal freed her. And that was the end of her film career. Anyway. Comment Paal, that 000 was well spent it brought the girl happiness'.
