May 05, 1954 - Screen Star Opens West End Store Roof Garden: Screen and Television star Edana Romney performed the opening ceremony of the garden on roof of Derry and Toms store in Kensington. She deputised for H.R.H. Princess Alice Countess of Athlone who is indisposed. The proceeds of the entrance fee for the first day of the garden is being donated to the British Red Cross. Pointing out some of the fish in the pond is Viclet Brand of the Red Cross, while looking on is Mrs. Prentice O.B.E.
