Nov. 11, 1958 - Nine year old London boy who stars in the new film The Boy and the Bridge': Nine year old Ian McLaine, of Stke Newington, is the boy who plays the title role in the new Xandu film The Boy and The Bridge'. He was chosen from more than 3, 000 aspirants and has never had any Previous professional experience. The two heroes of this film are, in fact, The Boy, and the Bridge. The boy plays the part of a 9 year old cockney who runs away from his father and his squalid Bermondsey lodgings. The Bridge which offers him sanctuary, and the security of the home he had never known, is London's landmark the Tower Bridge. This evening the lat Sequence of the film was filmed at Tower Bridge.
