Dec. 09 Young English movie actor saves woman from drowning in Seine M. Anthony Wright, a young English screen actor, in front of the Neuilly (Paris) Studio explaining how he rescued a French girl who was drowning in the Seine. Anthony saw the girl jump over the parapet while he was crossing a Seine bridge on his way to the right bank hotel where he is staying. Being a first class swimmer, he stripped to the waist and dived from the bridge. After bringing the girl back to the bank of the river he asked her why she tried to commit suicide. She explained that penniless and jobless she preferred to die. She promised the young actor not to do it again. Anthony Wright is playing in a film of the foreign legion now in the making in the Neuilly studio. August 31/54
