1960-1969 Actor - Actress
Dec. 16 Now It's Claudia And Rock - Plus A Swampful Of Reptiles: Insurance companies have been apprehensive about the hazardous location of Claudia Cardinale's latest film. Shot at a location deep in the reptile and mosquito infested swapms of tropical Florida, the production subjects Miss Cardinale and co-star Rock Hudson to the deadly dangers of poisonous snakes and ravenous alligators. To help overcome fear of the surroundings, a reptile naturalist - Ross Allen - first brought the stars face to face with captive serpents, and then taught them what to do if one appears in the swamps. At one stage, Claudia was even made to take an alligator on a lead - all part of the plan to help her overcome the jitters of filming in the swamp. After shooting had started, Claudia and Rock felt more confident, although ever mindful of the lurking dangers. The film, called Blinfold, tells the story of Rock's attempt to rescue Claudia's father from the hands of a subversive gang. In the process she falls for Rock in the unromantic setting of the Everglades. This is Claudia's first Hollywood film. The Italian actress recently won Italy's greatest honour - the Best Actress Silver Ribbon award for her part in Bebo's Girl'. These pictures show brave little Claudia Cardinale and Rock Hudson filming among the cypress trees of the treacherous Florida swamps. It might look fun, but behind the scenes there is very real danger. Photo shows Claudia Cardinale gives an affectionate hug to Mac the mule, during her filming in the Florida Everglades
