Feb. 02, 1962 - Spanish film Viridiana also comes to Germany: The film Viridiana by Spanish master film-director Luis Bunuel, which was awarded the Great Prize of Cannes 1969, will now also be shown in Germany. Because of its theme - problems of genuine charity - the film was much discussed and even pro-hibited in some countries. In Germany, it will be shown in its original length. OPS: Silvia Pinal (Pinal) in the part of Viridiana -left- who receives crowds of beggars, cripples etc. on the farm she in-herited from her uncle, whereas her cousin Jorge (played by Fransisco Rabal/Rabal) -right- has more wordly plans with his inheritance
