May 05, 1964 - The nicest French singer: Gilbert Becaud: Every year in Paris, a very large number of litterary and artistic prizes are given plush hotels or restaurants. Yesterday evening for once, a prize was given inside a Paris bistrot. It coudn't happen to a niceer guy: Chosen was Gilbert Becaud, who was named the most polite French singer and thus recieved the Paris Variety prize'. Becaud for the occasion offered a general round of drinks to the customers and red wine floated. Photo shows Gilbert Becaud in Paris with his prize, a record - sized key - keeper
