Adapted from a best-selling novel by Goncourt-Prize winner Robert Merle, it tells of the evacuation of English troops in Dunkerque in June 1940. Besides, Jean Paul Belmondon, the film features Catherine Spaak, Pierre Mondy and Francois Perier.
