Aug. 08, 1963 - Ring of Spies : Under the title A Ring of Spies a film is being made that gives a factual report of the Portland Spy Case of 1961, in which five people were sent to prison for a total of 95 years, for selling admiralty secrets to Russia. Although the Admiralty have refused to co-operate with the makers of the film, the film's technical adviser is ex-Superintendent George Smith who led the Special Branch team that broke the spy ring. Photo shows Nancy Nevinson as Mrs. Kroger, goes down through the trap door in her kitchen floor to the Transmission Room below where her husband Peter Kroger played by David Kossoff, is sending secrets to Russia
