May 05, 1966 - Dan Blocker in London: On Television, actor Dan Blocker - all 20 stone and six feet four-and-a-half-inches of him - is cowboy Hoss Cartwright - in the Bonanza series. But of screen, many surprising things emerge about Mr.Blocker. Like when he sqeezed his massive frame into a chair in the London Palladium's star dressing room yesterday - and talked of poetry, literature and teaching. The fact is, he has an M A degree in English literature. And he said: About four years ago I tried to go back to my old job of teaching. But it would have been impossible. I wouldn't have been teacher, but Hoss and that's no good in the classroom. He is in Britain - his first visit here - to be filmed in colour on the Palladium stage for showing in America.
