Ginger rogers, the 57- year old film star. was accorded a great reception when she arrived in Britain to make her first over stage appearance in the London production of the musical mame'. which opens at the theater Royal, Drury lane, on Feb. 20th, 1969. She was greeted at Southampton by a military band. Traveled down to Waterloo on a special train, named the Ginger Rogers Mame Express and was driven from the station to the Savoy hotel in a horse drawn open carriage. photo shows Ginger Rogers Looking gloriously happy arrives at Waterloo station in the special train today
