Oct. 10, 1967 - Leaping Lancaster.. and leaping Janet Landgard is whom Burt Lancaster is chasing. The chase is simply some friendly horsing around during a scene from the screen version of John Cheever's prize winning short story, The Swimmer, to be released by Columbia Pictures. Filmed in color on location in and around Westport, Connecticut, The Swimmer represented a tremendous artistic challenge for Lancaster; he appears in every scene of the picture. Janice Rule stars along with Lancaster in the film directed by Frank Perry and co-produced by Frank Perry and Roger H. Lewis for Sam Spiegel's Horizon Pictures
