Jan. 01, 1970 - 14 million dollar boost for British film production: In the present state of the motion picture industry, Josef Shaftel's announcement of his 14 million dollar programme of major film productions for 1970, largely made in Britain, becomes vitally important. A major factor is Shaftel's new deal with Cinerama which has given hims guarantee for world-wide distribution, already operating on four productions. This latest year, Shaftel, a dynamic American who now resides permanently in London, developed six projects. One The Last Grenade is already completed and delivered. The second Ask Agamemnon is in production at Twickenham Studios and the third Say Hello to Yesterday starts shooting on February 9th. Both these productions are backed by the Bank of America and Hill Samuel, the London Merchant Bankers. A fourth film The Statue goes into production on May 1st in Rome. Cinerama are distributing the films world wife. Other subjects are being prepared and it is hoped that atleast two more will be ready for filming before the end of 1970.
