Feb. 02, 1978 - Melina's Debut in Parliament: Melina Mercouri, the famous Greek Film and Stage Star, made her debut as a member of the Greek Parliament. She gave a long but well documented speech on how T.V. and radio should operate in the country. Miss Mercouri, now 52, was elected a Piaeus Deputy with the Panhellenic Socialist Party (Pasok), headed by Andreas G. Papanreou. She is one of the 10 women deputies in the present house.
