Sep. 28, 1979 - Thousands of people attended Pierre Goldman's funeral at Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. Goldman was a militant from the extreme left who was convicted of murdering two Parisian pharmacists a few years ago. After a second trial, he was cleared of his charges. He was beaten and killed in a Parisian street by an unidentified assailant
