She was born at 1913 as the daughter of Hungarian parents at Kairo, came in the age of 8 years to a dancing-school at Budapest. Later she became an dancing star in a circus and travelled with it through Europe and USA. 1934 followed her first appearance at an operetta at Viehna/Austria. That caused the high-spirited Marika Rokk became a star on stage, at film and also at TV. Her most successful films are: The Czardas-Princess, Mask in Blue, Light Cavallery, A Night in May, Hallo Janine, Kora Terry and Wife of my Dreams'. 1950 Marika Rokk was elected to the most beloved actoress of West-Germany. 1973 she was awarded with The Golden Batch of Honour of Vienna
