1980 - O.W. Fischer 65 Years Old: Otto (after Bismarck) Wilhelm (after the German Emperor) Fischer was born in Klosterneuburg near Vienna / Austria on April 1st, 1915. He is the son of a privy Councillor. Studying German philology and art history, he decided to begin an additional study of dramatic art. Aftervisiting the Reinhardt-Seminar, he bagan his career at the Theater in der Josefsstadt'. The Volkstheater in Vienna, the Munich Kammerspiele and the Wiener Burgtheater have been his main stages. He was playing leading parts of the world literature for example in plays of Ibsen, Buchner (Danton's dead) and Zuckmayer (Gesang im Feuerofen). Since 1936 already he also played in the movie and became one of the most beloved ctors in the German film. Hebgot several award for his movie work. His most successful films have been: Helden, solange du da bist, Ludwig II. Hanussen, Menschen im Hotel, Es mu nicht immer Kaviar Sin and Mit Himbeergeist geht alles besser Otto Wilhelm Fisher, living momentarily in Lugano /Swiss, today is only working for books concerning philology. He was appointed as professor by the Austrian minister of culture because of his scientific work
