1980-1989 Actor - Actress

Sep. 09, 1980 - Serene O'Toole Sure None Shall Harm Macbeth': Bloodied but unbowed, Peter O'Toole was back on the stage at the Old Vic last night despite the cauldron of trouble bubbling all around him following the critics savage hammering of his first night performance as Macbeth. But while the Old Vic management had initially reacted to the notices by practically disowning the production, and then calling a meeting to persmade O'Toole to make major changes, the volatile Irish star was rather less perturbed. IT was competent, he said of the production yesterday after inviting journalists waiting outside his Hampstead home in for a drink. it was fit for public consumption. It will improve'.
