Aug. 08, 1952 - 34 Pressured Dead In Flood Disaster: 24 peoples are presumed dead and many missing in the floods which hit Exmoor and devastated the little North Devon resort of Lynmouth. Lynton and Lynmouth bore the brunt of the catastrophe when the River Lynn became swollen torrent and was diverted from its course. It raged through the streets of Lynmouth and left the streets of Lynmouth and left the village a shamble. Photo shows the distressing scene of devastation caused by the flood at Lynmouth
