Feb. 02, 1948 - Famous battle mansion burns. Naseby Hall. Historic 33-roomed Naseby Hall, the scene of the battle between the Roundheads and the Royalists in 1646, was almost entirely destroyed when swept by flames early today. Colonel R.L. Findlay and his wife, who liveat the hall, were trapped in their room - but Colonel Findlay tied sheets and blankets together and lowered his wife from the window - he followed.
