Mar. 05, 1953 - Copenhagen March 5th 1953. Burmeister and Wain on Fire - Huge Damages. The famous Danish shipyard Burmeister and Win, Copenhagen, the largest firm in Denmark, was struck by a violent fire this morning. The damage casued by the fire is tremendous of more than five millions Kroner. It was the department where the shapes and wooden models for the new-building were stored, which was burning. Also a new building called the Photo-Tower was spoilt by the fire. Optic instruments for various measurements worth more than 2 mill Kr were kept there, and they were all wasted.
