1953 - Nine people were known today to have died in the Central line tube disaster at Strat ford last night - the worst in Landon's Underground history. It was the second coach of the Ealing Broadway-Epping train which took the burnt of the crash. The train ran into the rear of another train travelling from Greenford to Hainsult. Photo Shows Hospital nurses, rushed to Stratford Station to care for the injured after last night's train crash, leave the station to fetch more medical supplies
