The most daring pit rescue ever.: At 1-30 morning all 115 surving miners trapped in Knocksninnoch Castle colliery, Ayrshire, had been brought to the surface after the most daring pit rescue in history. But 13 men are still missing. Miners believe these men were caught by the fall perished when the subsidence took places in the mine at 10pm on Thursday. Every men of the 115 to reach the surface through the gas. Special breathing apparatus - in the form of a gas mask - had to be issued.
