Apr. 23, 1953 - 23-4-53 Two thousand homes destroyed in Greek earthquake Only one person lost his life but more than 9, 000 were rendered homeless and more than 2, 000 homes were destroyed in the recent earthquake which struck Volos the chief port of Thessaly, Greece. The earthquake was more severe than the one which struck the area a year ago and in which 27 lost their lives.
