Sep. 09, 1953 - Heavy Damage Following cloudburst in Genoa. Bridge wrecked when River floods. A cloudburst brought life to a stand still for several hours and caused heavy damage in Genoa, Italy - when the River Bisagno overflowed and turned streets into streams and squares into lakes. Cellars and basements were flooded to a depth of six feet - and many families were rendered homeless. The Molassana bridge was wrecked.
