Jun. 06, 1954 - Landslide At Virginia Water. Hundreds of workmen were on the scene this morning following the landslide at Stroude Road, Virginia Water - which was blocked by a fall of hundreds of tons of earth and concrete. The landslide was caused by the heavy rains of the week-end - and it left one department of the Holloway sanatorium Mental hospital on top of a 100 ft. precipice. Photo Shows: The scene as workmen clear away the trees which were taken down in the landslide. Above can be seen the cut-patients department of the hospital - hanging over the precipice
