Nov. 11, 1954 - Eight trapped in wrecked Lightship. Man Stands on side of vessel.: Eight men are reported to be trapped in the hull of South Goodwin Lightship wrecked on the Goodwin Sands. One member of the crew was seen standing on the side of the hull - and he was hoisted to safety by a helicopter which flew to the scene. He said the remainder of the crew are trapped below- and the Trinity House vessel Vestral is dashing to the spot with oxy-acetykubg apparatus aboard.
