Mar. 03, 1955 - Norwegian Liner Aground off Plymouth Hoe as seen from the air: The scene from the air - of the Norwegian liner Venus as she lay on the rocks - almost on top of the famous Plymouth Hoe. Twice yesterday - tugs tried to refloat the 6, 269 ton vessel..Five thousand people watched as tugs tried again last night - the liner lifted - but remained fast on the rocks. Heavy gear and cargo is being removed in an effort to give her a better chance of being refloated at the next high tide
