Jul. 07, 1956 - Ships collided in Channel: The 8, 000 ton new Liberian steamer, Michael C. and the 2, 615 french steamer Dione, collided in the Channel yesterday and drifted, locked together near the treacherous Goodwins. The tug Lady Brassey separated the two vessels, took the Dione in tow and the Michael C steamed into Dover with her bows gashed. Photo shows a dramatic picture of yesterday's Channel crash during a smog.
