Jul. 07, 1956 - Flood disaster in Northern Hesse. Cloudbursts and endless rainshowers raised up the floods which since days endanger the area of Northern Hesse. Mostly stricken by the high water were the cities of Volkmarsen and Bad Hersfeld, where floods raised up to 10 feet in the streets.
