Nov. 11, 1957 - On the Brink of Disaster. Bus Almost Topples Over Side of Bridge in Ismir-Turkey: The scene when two buses collided on a bridge near Izmir, Turkey - and one of them crashed through the stone parapet - and the front wheels hung panic - with her baby in her arms - jumped from the bus - they were both killed instantly. Nobody else was hurt. Another few yards and the bus would have toppled over - porbably causing dozens of deaths - and untold damage
