Oct. 10, 1957 - A dam breaks near Osnabrueck. and a more than three feet high mud-wall rolled toward a settlement - Pye - near Osnabrueck. The dam was part of an enclosure of a pond belonging to a stone-factory. The mud caused plenty of damage. The houses were moved by the flood, rail-road-tracks were suddenly suspended in the air and the whole area made the impression as if covered by lava. The disaster took place on Oct. 20, 1957 and claimed the life of one person. OPS: The settlement Pye after the catastrophe
