Jul. 07, 1957 - Hermann Buhl's deathly fall? Informations, which reached Lahore on July 15, 1957, will have that Hermann Buhl fell down a precipice of the Baltoro-Glacier in the vicinity of the Chequlsia-Summit on June 27, 1957. He is supposed to have fallen approximately 900 feet. Members of the Karakorum-Expedition have allegedly searched three days for his body, but in vain, and have returned to Skardu. Buhl had started to climb the Broad Peak with four other members of the expedition. Our picture was taken on April 3, 1957 and shows Hermann Buhl with his wife and daughter before his departure by air to Karatshi, in order to conquer the Broad Peak in the Karakorum.
