Jul. 07, 1959 - Putney's Bomb is exploded: Bomb disposal men worked through the night to steam some of the explosive before exploding the 500 lb bomb which was discovered by council workmen repairing Bendemeer road, Putney yesterday. The bomb was booby trapped and every dangerous, and had been dropped in a 1940 air raid. Families in the road had been evacuated, and when the bomb was exploded at dawn today, of houses.
